A Level Biology gives you the opportunity to investigate biological phenomena from the smallest molecule to the largest ecosystem, resulting in a greatly enhanced understanding of this branch of science. You will learn in newly-refurbished laboratories through a range of methods, including: lectures and experiments, group work and presentations, debates and problem-solving, and talks led by visiting biologists. You will also explore established teachings along with 21st Century challenges, which include things like preventing the spread of new diseases, further improving public health and conserving our environment. In addition, you can engage with our Vets and Medics Enrichment programme, which is particularly advantageous if you wish to pursue a career in medicine. This is a rigorous academic subject with many different applications. Importantly, it sits well alongside other science-related courses.
Five GCSEs at grade 4 and above with a minimum average GCSE score of 4.0, including: • Maths grade 5 • English Language grade 5 • Combined Science 6/6 or, if separate sciences, Biology grade 6 and a grade 6 in another science
