Sociology

Course summary

An exploration of the theories surrounding the way society functions and the ways in which different social groups work together, or not. A subject which develops critical thinking, social perspective along with analytical and evaluative writing skills. Students will have time each week to work on classwork and assessments according to individual needs and stages of attainment. Extension tasks and reading material from journals are available for very able students to expand their subject knowledge. This is an extra opportunity for support if students have areas of weakness. After school support is also available to discuss progress and support student needs.
