This course is designed for students who wish to gain a sports qualification to further their career aspirations in the sports and leisure industries, or prepare them for further training or higher education. A range of units will be studied over the year, which will cover all aspects of Sport and Exercise including: practical, anatomy, physiology, psychology, training, coaching, injuries, and biomechanics. You will study in our Sports Centre, The Peter Paine Performance Centre, which is open to the public outside of lessons providing you with a real working environment to study in that's dedicated to ensuring you have all the skills you need for working in the industry.
The entry qualifications for the Level 3 Sport and Exercise Science Extended Diploma are five GCSEs at grade 4 or above (Old GCSE grade C or above) including English (or equivalent). You can also enter the course with a Merit profile at First Diploma in a related subject
Each module is assessed through a range of coursework assignments, presentations, practical group and individual work.
