This course is designed for those who wish to gain a sport qualification to further their career aspirations in the sports and leisure industries, or prepare them for further training or Higher Education. A range of units will be studied over the course that cover all aspects of sport and exercise including: anatomy, physiology, psychology, specialised fitness training, coaching, research methods. In the second year, a Level 3 Sport Leader qualification will be available for those working at their set target grades. You will study in our Peter Paine Performance Centre, which is open to the public outside of lessons providing you with a real working environment to study in that's dedicated to ensuring you have all the skills you need for working in the industry.
The entry qualifications for the Level 3 Sport and Exercise Sciences Diploma are four GCSEs at grade 4 or above (Old GCSE grade C or above) (or equivalent). You can also enter the course with a Pass profile at First Diploma in a related subject.
Each module is assessed through a range of coursework assignments, presentations, practical group and individual work.
