This course provides the underpinning knowledge, understanding, and skills for you to progress directly into employment or gain a basis for you to continue the study of sport in Higher Education. The course enhances generic skills and knowledge that all practitioners in the coaching and fitness fields should possess. What areas are covered by the course? There is a range of academic and practical units including: ● Anatomy and Physiology ● Coaching Leadership ● Sports Nutrition and Injuries Fitness ● Training and Programming ● Organization and Development in Sport
You should have 5 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade 4 or above (including English and Maths) and should have a keen interest in participating in a range of sporting activities.
This course is assessed through coursework and two external examinations. The assessment methods will vary from written reports and essays to presentations, practical observations, case studies, and group and individual work.
