This course is equivalent to two A Levels and consists of eight units to be studied over the duration of two years. During this time students will have to complete the following: Three external mandatory units: Unit 2: Developing a Marketing Campaign- Learners will gain skills relating to, and an understanding of, how a marketing campaign is developed. Unit 3: Personal Business and Finance- Learners study the purpose and importance of personal and business finance. They will develop the skills and knowledge needed to understand, analyse and prepare financial information. Unit 6: Principles of Management- This unit enables learners to understand how the role of management and leadership in the workplace contributes towards business success. Three internal mandatory units: Unit 1: Exploring Business- In this introductory unit, learners study the purposes of different businesses, their structure, the effect of the external environment, and how they need to be dynamic and innovative to survive. Unit 4: Managing an Event- Learners will work as part of a small group to plan, coordinate and manage a business or social enterprise event and evaluate the skills gained. Unit 5: International Business- Learners study how UK businesses develop strategies to trade globally. In addition to this you will study two of the following optional units: 8 Recruitment and Selection Process 9 Team Building in Business 10 Recording Financial Transactions 11 Final Accounts for Public Limited Companies 12 Financial Statements for Specific Businesses 13 Cost and Management Accounting 14 Investigating Customer Service 15 Investigating Retail Business 16 Visual Merchandising 17 Digital Marketing 18 Creative Promotion 19 Pitching for a New Business 20 Investigating Corporate Social Responsibility 21 Training and Development 22 Market Research 23 The English Legal System
We would recommend at least a grade 4/5 at GCSE in English and maths and preferably a Level 2 Business Studies qualification.
