Course summary

The course is not about learning to use tools or just training in a programming language. Instead, the emphasis is on using computational thinking to solve complex problems and using techniques to create practical solutions. These skills can be applied to all areas of academic study and beyond. Computing enables students to be not just educated users of technology, but the innovators capable of designing new computers and programs to improve the qualify of life for everyone. It is not an exaggeration to say that our lives depend upon computer systems and the people who maintain them to keep us safe on the road and in the air.
