Course summary

Mathematics A Level is a highly respected qualification by employers and further education establishments. It supports the study of other A Levels and is excellent preparation for a wide range of university courses. Employers require skills such as problem-solving, logical reasoning, communication, and resilience. All of which are skills developed on the course. Year 12 Maths students are following the AS Mathematics specification. All students follow the same course and will study Pure Maths, Statistics, and Mechanics. Year 13 Maths students are following the A-level Mathematics specification. All students follow the same course and will study Pure Maths, Statistics, and Mechanics. At the end of Year 13, they sit exams in A-level Mathematics and the content will cover all areas of the two-year course. The structure is as follows: Paper 1 Pure mathematics 2 hours. Paper 2 Pure mathematics 2 hours. Paper 3 Statistics and Mechanics 2 hours.
