Level 3 BTEC Sport Extended Diploma Sport is a 14 unit course that explores various aspects of the sport industry. Coursework units are assessed by the creation of a portfolio of evidence and are designed to give you an understanding of different aspects of the sport and recreation industry. Units you may complete on the course: • Anatomy and Physiology. • Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport and Well-being. • Professional Development in the Sports Industry. • Sports Leadership. • Application of Fitness Testing. • Practical Sports Performance. • Coaching for Performance. • Research Methods in Sport. • Sport Event Organisation. • Development and Provision of Sport. • Investigating Business in Sport and the Active Leisure Industry. • Skill Acquisition in Sport. • Rules Regulations and Officiating in Sport. • Sports Massage.
Ideally a 6 grade or above in GCSE PE or Merit or above in BTEC Sport Level 2.
Assessment is a mixture of coursework and exams. Coursework is completed through a variety of methods, including case studies, observation of practical work and assignments. There are four exam units and ten coursework units.
