The BTEC Level 3 in Business at Carmel College allows every learner to develop a real understanding of what is involved, both theoretically and practically, in becoming an effective business professional. The Extended Certificate is a single qualification that is the equivalent to 1 A Level. You will complete either 4 units on the BTEC Extended Certificate. There are a certain number of mandatory units, whilst the optional units are chosen to provide you with the best opportunity to achieve at your highest level. You will cover topics such as marketing, personal and business finance, event management, international business, and principles of management.
5 x grade 4s or above at GCSE or equivalent. You will need a grade 4 in GCSE Maths and English Language plus GCSE Business (if studied) or a Merit grade in BTEC First Award in Business/BTEC Technical Award in Enterprise (if studied).
You will be assessed in a number of different and engaging ways and the assessment methods vary to include communications used in the modern-day business world. This could be a report, presentation, debate, or Prezi. You will also be involved practically in activities such as market research, teamwork, and project management.
