This qualification will support you to build on the knowledge and skills required to work in a range of Healthcare Support roles. This qualification consists of mandatory units, covering knowledge and skills competencies, with optional specialisms. These can be combined in flexible ways to reflect the reality of working in this sector. This qualification allows you to learn, develop, and demonstrate the skills and knowledge required for employment and/or career progression in Healthcare. Opportunities may also be available to progress to an apprenticeship at Level 5, such as the Assistant Practitioner in Healthcare or the Nursing Associate, or to higher education programs, providing all entry requirements are met. Although there is no need for employer engagement, support from employers is required for observations and releasing you for study. Before course enrolment a skills scan will be set, as well as a meeting, that will include your employer where they will complete an employer approval form.
Usually, you’ll need five GCSEs at grades 9-4 (or equivalent) or to have completed a relevant Level 2 qualification.
