The PE A level encourages a holistic understanding of PE. The qualifications will further develop students understanding of how the mind and body works in relation to performance in physical sport whilst also engaging with key issues and themes relating to contemporary global influences on physical education and sport. The course is assessed through externally assessed exams and Internally assessed coursework and practical performance in one sport.
General entry minimum requirements to study three Level 3 qualifications for Hillview Sixth Form are Grade 4 in both English Language and Maths together with 3 other GCSE grades at Grade 4 or above. Students will also need to meet subject specific criteria which for PE is, Grade 6 or above in GCSE PE and/or equivalent experience outside of school, in addition to a Grade 5 or above in a Science. An APS of 4.5 or above.
