Psychology is the scientific study of mind and behaviour. It will enable you to analyse human behaviour with a greater depth of understanding, and develop scientific research skills.
- GCSE English Language Grade 5 and either GCSE Maths Grade 5 or Science grade 5 GCSE Psychology is useful but not essential. - The student must have attained the minimum GCSE Points Score of 38 points from his or her best eight GCSE results, with at least Grade 5 in English and Grade 5 in Maths for Advanced Level entry.
Students are assessed at the end of Year 13 including knowledge from across the two years of study. There are three external examinations, each is two hours in length and each worth 33.3% of the A level grade. Assessments are based on year 1 and 2 knowledge and understanding of psychological research, analysis and evaluations of psychological research and understanding of how science works. Exams are very content heavy and students are required to write with breadth and depth.
