Course summary
The BTEC Performing Arts course is perfect for students who enjoy both acting and production of performance. The course is based around practical activities supported by an ongoing Journal. It allows you to experience a wide range of performance techniques, develop creativity, work as part of a team and share ideas and opinions. You will develop your practical ability, as well as your critical and evaluative skills throughout the course. Over the course you will take part in devising, script work and contemporary performance and you will be creating work throughout the course to perform to an audience. The course is assessed through both practical and written work. There are four units of work which include performing scripts, practitioner work, devising your own performances, a written exam and a practical exam in front of a visiting examiner. BTEC National Extended Certificate: 1 A level equivalent
