You will enjoy developing your understanding of the visual world, learning practical skills and responding to ideas and issues in ways that are personal to you. Art is about looking, learning, thinking and communicating ideas in reference to contextual studies. It offers you the chance to use your creativity and express yourself in a personal way. You will develop your understanding of the creative processes, your ability to think, to solve problems and to communicate visually. It will enable you to work independently and to make your own discoveries by exploring ideas, other artists’ work and different materials and techniques.
For A-Level study, we require a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4+ in five different subjects including English language and Maths. We accept short course GCSE grades as part of the entry requirements. Grade 4+ in Art.
Personal Investigation with a 3000-word essay (60%) and Externally Set Assignment (40%).
