Course summary

The A-level geography course is challenging but highly relevant to the world we live in. The course addresses contemporary world problems from a variety of perspectives and aims to help develop an understanding of the relationship between people and their environments, of the challenges faced, and the range of possible solutions. Physical Geography • Water and carbon cycles • Hot desert environments and their margins • Coastal systems and landscapes • Hazards • Ecosystems under stress • Cold environments Human Geography • Global systems and global governance • Changing places • Contemporary urban environments • Population and the environment • Resource security Geography Investigation Students complete a 3,000-4,000 individual investigation worth 20% of the A Level.
