The course comprises four units – ➢ British period study and enquiry covering the Early Tudor period from 1485 to 1558. ➢ Non –British period study looking at International Relations from 1890 to 1941. ➢ Thematic study and historical interpretation of Russia and its Rulers from 1855-1964. ➢ Topic based essay of 3000-4000 words on a topic of your choice. If you have a passion and interest for the past and want to become an independent and critical thinker, then this course is for you!
Students with a GCSE average point score* of between 5.0 and 7.0 are strongly encouraged to take three A Level courses Grade 6 in GCSE History. If not taken, Grade 6 in Geography or RE and Grade 4 in English.
20% topic-based essay and 80% on three ‘extended writing’ exams.
