Studying Psychology at South Devon College will introduce you to some of how the human mind and behaviour have been explained. In the first year, you will learn about the biological, cognitive, behaviourist, positive, and psychodynamic approaches in psychology, together with the various research methods that are used to investigate the brain and behaviour. In the second year, you will learn how some of the approaches have been used to understand addictive behaviours, criminality, and schizophrenia. A degree in Psychology can lead to careers in clinical, educational, health, counselling and occupational psychology, or would be generally useful if you are planning on a very people-focused career, for example working as a police officer or social worker. What will I learn? • Research methods • Psychological themes through core studies • Applied psychology
You must have 5 GCSEs at Grade 4(C) or above. Grade 5 in any two of the following: English, maths, and science.
