This is a two-year course (AQA). A Level music has a strong element of variety and is a natural progression from GCSE. Component 1- Appraising Music Component 2- Performance Component 3- Composition
You will need to have an average GCSE grade of 4.5 or above to study on this course. You should have passed GSCE Music at a minimum of Grade 5. A pass at Grade 4 - 5 Theory would be considered as an alternative to GCSE. You should also be at the standard of at least Grade 4 – 5 practical on your main instrument/ voice or be competent at sequencing and multi-tracking using Music Technology. Prior knowledge of basic music reading is essential.
You will be assessed at the end of the second year.
