An A Level in Business Studies can lead to varying careers such as Marketing, HR, Business Management and even Law. Many students go on and focus on international management providing them with the opportunity to travel later in life. It is an incredibly popular subject due to its diversity and ability to work well with a mixture of other subjects. - Marketing - International Business - Personal and Business Finance - Business Strategy - External Influences - Micro and Macro Economics The majority of the course will be through classroom teaching and discussion. Students will be expected to complete one written piece of in-depth homework each week for marking along with an additional three hours of independent study which will be reviewed on a weekly basis.
- Grade 6 in English, Grade 5 in Maths and Business at GCSE. For those who have not studied Business at GCSE, Grade 6 in English and Maths are required - Entry to this programme is determined by GCSE results. It is generally necessary for students to have achieved at least a level 6 at GCSE in the subject (or related subjects) they intend to study at A Level.
The Business Studies course is a linear course and is completed with three final exams at the end of Year 13. Paper 1: Business Influences (which contains macro and micro economics) Paper 2: Business Finance Paper 3: Synoptic paper which is a pre-released case study and includes all elements of the Business Studies course
