The course will develop individuals’ knowledge and skills across a range of disciplines which develop an in-depth understanding of how optimum sporting performance can be achieved. This is designed for individuals who are keen to develop their sporting performance or those who want to pursue a career developing elite athletes. The content of the course has been designed in collaboration with employers, national governing bodies, and professional bodies, and is endorsed and accredited by CIMSPA. All of the units are internally assessed in a range of types and styles adapted to suit the qualification. These may include written reports, presentations, journals/logs, etc.
For BTEC Level 3 courses students must have a minimum of 4 GSCEs grade 9-4 (A–C) which may include 1 BTEC and either GCSE English or GCSE Maths at grade 4 as appropriate for chosen courses. Specific entry requirements: Grade 4 in GCSE Maths or GCSE English and a Merit in BTEC Level 2 Sport or a Grade 4 in GCSE PE if taken
