Would you like to learn how to apply make-up for fashion, catwalk, photographic and editorial looks? If yes, then this is the course for you. Working with creative media make-up tutors, you will learn the skills and techniques to enable you to create exciting and beautiful make-up designs. You will also learn the art of dressing hair. Course content: Health and safety. Apply make up. Instruction of make up. Create an image based on a theme The art of dressing hair. Apply skin tanning techniques. The art of photographic make-up. Shaping and colouring eyebrows. Plaiting and twisting hair. Following completion of this course you can progress on to the Level 3 Diploma in Make-up artistry or employment in the make-up industry. The Government requires that all students studying programmes take separate Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English. Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed. If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't already have a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths they will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards higher grades in English and Maths or a higher level Maths qualification we can help you do that too.
Two GCSEs grade 3/D plus English grade 4 or above or Level 1 in Beauty Therapy (NVQ).
There will be continuous assessment of practical work, both on and off the job, oral questioning relating to practical work and written questions. You will be required to maintain and submit a portfolio of evidence of work produced. Assessments are based on the ability to do the job.
