This vocational qualification is a technical qualification, which introduces learners to Television and Film Production and as a result, learners will leave this course well-prepared to enter the Creative Media Industry as a worker, apprentice, or student. You will gain experience in using industry-standard equipment and software to create moving images. In addition, you will learn about the industry and its practices. During your two years of study, you will undertake a work placement. You will also hear from a variety of industry speakers, visit career fairs, and attend workshops, trips, and visits.
Requires four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English, and may include a BTEC. Alternatively, Level 2 BTEC in Creative Media at merit and GCSE English at grade 4.
Over two years, you will undertake 10 units. These will be both internally and externally set and assessed. Four out of the 10 units are mandatory and two of these (Digital Media Skills and Responding to a Commission) are externally set and assessed. The remaining two are internally set and assessed. There will be a range of both practical and theoretical assessments within each unit. Evidence will be produced in the form of moving creative production, written work, presentations, imagery, and observations.
