Within this course, you will gain knowledge and understanding around these topics in both a theoretical and practical setting. This course is an ideal steppingstone for progressing to the Level 3 Sport Extended Diploma course. The First Certificate in Sport is designed to build confidence, gain further sporting and scientific knowledge, and to enjoy studying in a sixth form environment. Approximately 8 units will be covered throughout the academic year covering various sports related topics such as: • Fitness for Sport & Exercise • Practical Sports Performance • Anatomy and Physiology for Sports Performance • Leading Sports Activities • Promotion & Sponsorship in Sport • Injury & the Sports Performer • Training for Personal Fitness • Running a Sports Event
A range of 3/2 grades at GCSE.
Each unit of work will be assessed by assignments, presentations, and practical assessments, with two units being externally-assessed exams. Assignments are theoretical and practical in nature and the grades awarded for each will go towards the student’s final grade.
