This course provides an opportunity to study the exciting and evolving travel and tourism industry, which provides a varied range of careers. It gives you an insight into the various factors and issues currently affecting the industry. You will also learn valuable transferable skills in how to deal with customers in a variety of different situations. There are 13 units of study over the duration of the course. Core units include: Global Destinations, Principles of Marketing, Travel and Tourism Enterprises, The UK as a Tourist Destination, and Managing Accommodation Services. Optional units may include: The Airport Experience, Visitor Attractions, Recruitment and Selection in Travel and Tourism, and Work Experience.
You will need 5 GCSEs with grades 9-4, including a grade 4 in English.
You will be assessed using a variety of methods including written coursework assignments, case study work, verbal presentations, and practical activities. There will also be some externally examined units.
