This is a 2-year course where 6 units will be covered across Years 12 and 13, 4 of the units are mandatory and the other 2 units are chosen from an optional list. ● This is a recognized course that counts towards UCAS points and university courses related to Health and Social Care (Nursing etc). ● Group and individual work will take place during the course including presentations and scenario-based work. ● Health and Social Care leads to a variety of careers ranging from the care of infants to the elderly in the Health and Social Care sector. ● Research skills are extremely important and a vital part of this course. ● This course is equivalent to 1 A-Level. ● No experience in Health and Social Care is needed. ● Work experience in the Health and Social Care sector would be helpful, not a necessity. ● Professional skills will be developed throughout this course.
Minimum Grade 4 in English and 5 in Science
Three units are assessed by modular exams (these will take place in January or June in years 12 and/or 13). Three units will be assessed through the completion of coursework (similar to the GCSE format)
