RSL Level 3 Diploma in Creative and Performing Arts. This is an exciting course that will equip learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding for entry to employment in the creative and performing arts industries or progression to further study at a higher level. The qualification aims to offer practical structured learning with the opportunity to develop a range of skills across all areas of the dance pathway including performing, choreographing and teaching. It will provide you with the opportunity to take your learning outside of the studio and participate in projects with the wider community. To achieve this qualification you will complete 7 units of work, made up of 2 compulsory core units together with 5 additional units that can develop your skills and understanding of performance, choreography and your ability to teach dance. There is no formal external examination and assessment is based on creating portfolios of evidence showing how you have developed your skills throughout the 2 year course. 5 GCSEs at 4 or above including grade 4 in Dance & English language. If you haven’t studied Dance at GCSE, applications may be considered if you take part in extra-curricular dance following an interview with the Principal Teacher.
