Mathematics

Course summary

During Year 12 you will develop your existing skills in pure mathematics, learning new concepts such as calculus, exponentials and logarithms. You will also apply your skills to the study of mechanics, learning about forces, Newton’s Laws, moments, and kinematics. During Year 13 you will further advance your pure maths skills by learning about topics such as parametric equations, partial fractions and numerical methods such as Newton-Raphson. You will also study statistics, developing your understanding of probability, statistical sampling, statistical distributions and hypothesis testing.
