Course summary
This course will suit you if you enjoy communicating in French and you want to develop your existing skills to a higher degree of fluency, have a strong interest in French Culture, history and politics and want to discover how past events have shaped contemporary society. Our aim is to develop your French listening, reading, speaking and writing skills in a vocational context for particular use in future employment, and to enable you to achieve the necessary exam techniques and grammatical skills to succeed. In order to achieve high standards, all language students will have regular weekly contact with a native French speaker and learning incorporates a mixture of authentic materials including broadcasts, newspapers, books and magazines in French. We see grammar as an integral part of language learning and expect you to have a sound working knowledge of basic constructions such as the main tenses and the concept of word order in the foreign language, although some time will be devoted to revising the fundamentals before further extending your knowledge.
