Course summary

This course will suit you if you have an interest in human behaviour and the motives behind our behaviour, are literate and articulate and are prepared to ask questions and contribute to discussions. You need to have a critical, enquiring mind, accept that human behaviour can be studied scientifically and believe that an understanding of human psychology can be put into practise to help improve the lives of individual and groups in society. There are a number of different fields within Psychology, some of which will be covered in Year 12 and other in Year 13. Clinical Psychology is concerned with diagnosing and treating disorders of the brain and behaviour broblems. Criminal Psychology is the study of the causes of crime and anti-social behaviour. You will develop a holistic understanding of Psychology, from considering conflicting and complementary explanations of clinical issues, major debates, scientific elements and genetics to research materials and statistics.

Entry requirements

- 5 GCSEs at grade 5 and above this must include GCSE Maths and GCSE English (Language or Literature)
