A Level Economics will give you an excellent understanding of how individuals, firms and governments on a local, national and global level meet conflicting needs and wants with scarce resources. You will investigate microeconomic activity, such as the impact of individual decisions, the importance of competition and how markets operate, as well as the 'bigger picture' (macroeconomics), the global impact of financial markets and monetary policy. The units cover both Macroeconomics and Microeconomics as well as modern economic thinking such as behaviour economics.
GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above are needed to study this course.
You will be assessed by 3 exams at the end of the second year.
