Course summary
Topics include: particles, mechanics, electric and gravitational fields, materials, thermodynamics, astronomy, radiation and oscillations. Physics will combine with most scientific and numerate subjects including Chemistry, Biology, Computing and Business Studies. However, A Level Mathematics with Physics is strongly recommended as a combination. On successful completion of the A Level you can go on to Higher Education or a career in Physical Sciences. There are many options for careers with Physics, including: Scientific research, scientific civil service, technology/engineering industries, medical physics, telecommunications and the media, environmental physics, education, technical journalism and publishing, the numerate careers, e.g. accountancy, law and other subjects requiring A Level qualification.
