It is for post-16 learners who want to continue their education through applied learning and who aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment in the business sector. The qualification is equivalent to one A Level and aims to provide a coherent introduction to the study of the business sector. WHAT WILL I STUDY This 2 year course consists of 4 units: Unit 1: Exploring Business Unit 2: Developing a marketing campaign Unit 3: Personal and Business Finance Unit 8: Recruitment and Selection WHERE CAN BTEC BUSINESS STUDIES LEAD? Many different career paths include auditing, banking, communications, distribution, energy and utilities, hospitality and leisure, IT, insurance, journalism, law, logistics, manufacturing, media administration, production management, public relations, the public sector and defence, risk management and tax.
To study BTEC courses you will need to have achieved 5 grade 4s or better at GCSE. Standard entry requirements. Prior study of business studies is not essential.
