Course summary
Unit 1: Anatomy and Physiology: aims to cement how the skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular and respiratory systems function and the fundamentals of the energy systems. This unit is assessed via a 1.5-hour examination. Unit 2: Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport and Well Being: combines lifestyle factors affecting health, nutrition, fitness training and fitness programming, which is then assessed through a task-based external two-hour examination. Unit 3: Professional Development in the Sports Industry: learners will research different possible careers and associated job roles in the sports industry. This unit is assessed internally. Unit 4: Sports Leadership: aims to develop learners’ confidence in a variety of different roles when leading sports. Learners need to be willing to stand in front of a group to develop this area. This unit is assessed internally
