The Art Department is exciting and inspiring and uses a creative and imaginative space, ideal for the production of original and inventive artwork. This course will suit you if you want to develop your skills in drawing and painting in a individual way using both traditional and contemporary techniques and if you enjoy experimenting with a range of artistic techniques and processes such a printmaking, painting, collage, mixed media, CAD and photography. Furthermore, this course will suit you if you are interested in gaining an appreciation of the work of both traditional and contemporary artists and designers. You will develop skills in art and design through assignments that encourage you to work in a variety of ways such as undertaking primary and secondary research, drawing and sketching, expanding ideas, reviewing and refining to create your own masterpieces. Art and Design at Key Stage 5 offers endless possibilities. We encourage students to develop as individual artists, challenge boundaries and feel confident to work independently.
