Course summary

Combining practical work through industry placements and classroom sessions, this course is excellent preparation for a career in the health and social care sectors as well as progression to university. You will gain insight into vocational careers available and be able to apply the theory you learn in college. This course is equivalent to 3 A levels (carrying UCAS points in the same way) and for students interested in careers in nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, social work, and other health, social and early years related degrees. It also opens doors to L3 apprenticeships or employment in similar fields including working with adults with learning disabilities, older people, and children. The course has both an academic and vocational context so you will study both in the classroom and experience placements where you will gain insight into vocational careers and be able to apply the theory you learn in college. The course is a stand-alone course and will make up your whole timetable. It is 2 years in duration.
