Course summary
A Level English Literature offers a clear progression from GCSE and encourages independent study of a wide variety of texts within a shared context. The A-Level Literature course allows students to develop a wide range of skills, such as the ability to read critically, analyse, evaluate and undertake independent research. These are skills which are valuable for both further study and future employment. The course offers an excitingly wide variety of texts in terms of genres and authors, enriching students’ experience and appreciation of Literature. The A-level non-exam assessment component provides opportunities for students to pursue their own areas of interest and develop personal and independent learning skills.
