This T Level is suitable for anyone wanting a career in health and healthcare. The T Level is a 2-year program and will include a 9-week (minimum) industry placement and a Technical Qualification, where you will also choose your specialist occupation. You will develop a general understanding of health and science, including Working within the health and science sector Health, safety, and environmental regulations Managing information and data Principles of good scientific and clinical practice Core science concepts including the structure of cells, tissues and large molecules, genetics, microbiology, and immunology You will also develop the knowledge and skills specific to health, such as: Understanding the healthcare sector Providing person-centered care Supporting health and wellbeing Further knowledge of both human anatomy and physiology and of diseases and disorders Infection prevention and control In addition to the core content, each student will also complete one module of occupation-specific content: Supporting the care of children and young people (from September 2022).
There are a couple of different entry pathways onto this course including: - Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English, maths, and preferably a science - A relevant Level 2 qualification - Successful completion of the Transition Program.
You will be assessed by completing an employer-set project and a project on your specialist subject. You'll have time to research and complete tasks. There'll also be 2 exams. You'll work with your tutor to decide when you're ready to be assessed.
