Course summary
This two- year A Level course is aimed at learners who wish to develop the necessary creative and technical skills required to progress onto Higher Education or a career in the Fashion or Design Industries. Students will produce practical and critical/contextual work in one or more areas of study, for example: fashion design, fashion textiles, costume design, digital textiles, printed and/or dyed fabrics and materials, domestic textiles, wallpaper, interior design, constructed textiles, art textiles and installed textiles. Students are required to work in one or more area(s) of textile design, such as those listed below. They may explore overlapping areas and combinations of areas: fashion design fashion textiles costume design digital textiles printed and/or dyed fabric and materials domestic textiles and wallpaper interior design constructed textiles art textiles installed textiles. All students will compile a creative portfolio for university or industry, showcasing a range of skills.
