Course summary

The NHS employs 1.4 million people and social care 1.6 million people and will have over half a million extra jobs available by 2030. (healthcareers.nhs.co.uk). There are over 350 different careers to choose from and there is a role for everyone with the right skills and values. If you are committed to making a positive difference in people’s lives in this ever-growing health & social care industry; if you are patient and enthusiastic, then this is the course for you. Working in any career in the health or social care industry is extremely rewarding and will provide you with great job satisfaction. You will get many opportunities to take part in overseas residential trips, projects, fundraising, volunteering, and charity work. This will develop your skills, confidence, and personal development. In the first year of the course, you will complete the Level 3 Extended Certificate in Health & Social Care which is equivalent to one A level, the second year you will study the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care, which is equivalent to a further two A Levels.
