Course summary
YEAR 12: In year 12 students will learn how to understand and use the formal elements to explore and create works of Art, Sculpture, and Textiles of their choice. Students will follow the various techniques in the order they appear below, to ensure that projects are not repeated and cover the specification aims and assessment objectives. The aim is that at the end of year 12 students are equipped to move onto more personal and challenging areas of study through the year, in preparation for year 13 Components 1 and 2. All projects will be strongly underpinned by literacy and artist/ contextual research which will form an integral part of their learning. Key elements of observational drawing skills, mark making, shape and form, abstraction, and color will be explored through chosen themes.
