Course summary

Biology is the study of living organisms, encompassing their structure, function, growth, evolution, and interactions with the environment. OCR A Level Biology explores the intricate web of life, from microscopic cells to complex ecosystems, allowing us to understand the fundamental processes that shape and sustain our planet. You will cover the following units: development of practical skills in biology, foundations in biology, exchange and transport, biodiversity, evolution and disease, communication, homeostasis and energy, and genetics, evolution and ecosystems. You will have the opportunity to carry out ecological fieldwork and attend talks and workshops on key topics. You will also be able to join the Medical Society, where you will investigate broader and deeper topics related to medicine and the sciences. Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-5 including English and 2 GCSE subjects graded 9-6 including Maths and Combined Science / Biology.
