If you are interested in working with children, vulnerable adults or in the medical field, then this is the subject for you. Learning about the human body; the legislation surrounding caring for people (and yourself); how to communicate effectively; reproduction and childbirth; and the importance of adequate nutrition and how to achieve this. The course is broad and fascinating with a mix of coursework and exams. The department organises talks by Health and Social Care professionals.
Students must have achieved at least five strong passes (to at least Grade 5) at GCSE, including English Language and Maths.
