Seeking to understand dynamics of change at a micro level (e.g. industry level) and a macro level (e.g. within and between countries). Microeconomics is the study of firms, consumers, and various industries. Macroeconomics is the study of the whole economy - inflation, employment and unemployment, trade and globalization, income inequality, economic growth versus development, emerging economies such as MIST, and fiscal, monetary, and supply-side policies. You will look into retail and commercial banks. Economics helps us to understand how the world works and how to make it a better place. It is at the heart of understanding major social problems of our time including climate change, inequality, poverty, health care, an aging population, obesity, globalization, and the impact of AI.
A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-5 including English and 2 GCSE subjects graded 9-6 including Maths (one in an essay-based subject).
