Course summary

You will be introduced to a variety of experiences that explore a range of graphic communication media, processes and techniques. You will explore the use of drawing for different purposes, using a variety of methods and media on a variety of scales. Areas of study • Interactive media (including web, app and game design). • Advertising. • Packaging design. • Design for print. • Illustration. • Communication graphics. • Branding. • Multimedia. • Motion graphics. • Design for film and television.

Entry requirements

Grade 5 in GCSE Graphics, Art or DT.

How you'll be assessed

Component 1: Practical work that makes connections with some aspect of contemporary or past practice of artist(s), designer(s), photographers or craftspeople and include written work of no less than 1000 and no more than 3000 words, which supports the practical work. Component 2: An externally set assignment.
