You will be exploring digital photography and post production (Adobe Photoshop) as well as traditional black and white darkroom techniques and processes. You will experiment with various themes in photography such as; - Studio photography - Portraiture - Fashion Photography - Landscape - Documentary photography, photo journalism, narrative photography - Fine art photography, photographic installation - Film still photography You will be looking at a range of traditional and contemporary photographers and artists. You will need to be able to write about artists and photographers to express your own thoughts and ideas. A level Photography is designed to: - Improve intellectual, imaginative, creative and intuitive skills - Encourage independence in relation to developing their own ideas, realising their own intentions and producing personal outcomes - Introduce students to a variety of experiences exploring a range of photographic media, techniques and processes. Experimenting with both traditional (film) and new technologies (digital). - Develop an awareness of the different roles, functions, audiences and consumers of Photography - Provide specialised studies directly relevant to a photography profession that students intend to seek employment or study further.
