Course summary

Year one: Level 3 BTEC Foundation Diploma in Animal Management Year two: Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Animal Management This is a one-year Foundation Diploma, which is a stand-alone qualification. The Extended Diploma is a separate course that you can do in your second year. In your first year, you will cover a range of units including Animal Biology, Animal Welfare and Ethics, Practical Animal Husbandry, Animal Behaviour, Animal Health and Disease, Work Experience in the Animal Sector, and Principles of Animal Nursing. Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths.

How you'll be assessed

Most of the course is continuously assessed through assignments, projects, and case studies; there will be one unit assessed by examination. You will develop a responsible and cooperative approach to working on your own and in groups. The course uses practical activities, presentations, and involvement with local businesses wherever possible.
