This course is for candidates who want to work as plumbers in the building services engineering sector. It allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the plumbing sector. Mandatory Units: • Health and safety in building services engineering • Electrical principles and processes for building services engineering • Scientific principles for domestic, industrial and commercial plumbing • Common Plumbing process • Cold water systems • Domestic hot water systems • Sanitation • Central heating systems • Drainage systems • Understand how to communicate with others within building services engineering For all candidates on the full-time programme of study who do not hold GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above will study English and Maths Functional Skills alongside their main programme of study.
New Students: You must have GCSE English and maths at a minimum of Grade 4 in one, and Grade 3 in the other.* Progressing students: Level 1 in Plumbing plus English and maths. A satisfactory reference for attitude, behaviour, attendance and punctuality.
