Course summary

This is an art-based qualification specializing in graphic design. The course covers all aspects of graphic design including image manipulation, visual communication and presentation, layout and typography, product design, advertising, and magazine work. Through a series of research-based lessons, you will independently decide on a personal direction for your work. With skills-based workshops, you will learn the basic principles of graphic design and begin producing a range of experiments preparatory studies and a portfolio of design work in relation to your theme. In addition, you will learn to analyze and evaluate the work of graphic designers through a series of written and visual case studies. As your portfolio progresses you will build on your specialist area of expertise and develop highly personal, professional outcomes. IS THIS COURSE FOR ME? Graphic design is a discipline within art and design and focuses entirely on the development of graphic products with art and design methods.
