Course summary

You may wish to develop existing dance skills to a professional standard or discover the hidden dancer within you. You may wish to experience your 15 minutes of fame performing on stage or develop lifelong skills. Whatever your ambitions, dance will challenge you outside of your comfort zone, increase your self-esteem, and encourage you to reach your full potential. You will study a range of classic dance styles and techniques through modern methods and study the theoretical aspects of dance history and development. Lord Lawson of Beamish Academy Dance Department has strong links with local and national dance agencies including Dance City, Ballet Lorent, Famous415, and Sunderland University. Working with professional practitioners and choreographers you will gain an insight into the professional dance world. IS THIS COURSE FOR ME? If you want to challenge your dance skills in performance, choreography, and critical engagement then this course is for you. A passion for dance is essential to success in A-level dance.
